FAQ
Is Hemp-Derived THC Legal?
Thanks to the 2018 Hemp Farming Act, industrial hemp that has a tetrahydrocannabinol (THC, the psychoactive component of marijuana) concentration of no more than 0.3% has been made legal by removing it from schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act.
Hemp or Marijuana - What's the Difference?
The Cannabis plant is referred to by two legal terms, Hemp and Marijuana, depending on how much THC it has. Marijuana has more than .3% THC. Hemp has less than .3% THC. All Humboldt Farms Hemp products found on this site are sourced from Hemp.
What is THCA?
THCA, or THC Acid, is the acid form of Delta-9 THC that develops naturally in cannabis/hemp plants. Once converted through heat, light, oxygen, or chemical reactions, THCA converts into active Delta-9 THC. THCA is legal because, chemically, it is NOT active Delta-9 THC. Delta-9 THC, or the amount in a product, is the only distinguishing feature that legally separates “cannabis” from “hemp” when they are the same plant. This makes hemp legal for THCA, CBDA, and CBGA, but not active THC that exceeds 0.3% by dry weight basis. This makes our THCA flower federally compliant!
What are the Effects?
Diverse effects including pain-relief, changes in mood, relaxation and anxiety-relief can occur from the cannabis plant’s cannabinoid compounds when they engage with the human body’s endocannabinoid system. It is important to start slow and with a low dose if it is your first time using hemp as individual responses vary. Take a puff and wait a few minutes to notice any effects. CBD and THC are the most renowned cannabinoids but there are others that vary depending on strain.
